Should I notify the other driver’s insurance company of the accident?

No.

The other driver and your insurance company will take care of putting the other driver’s insurance company on notice. It is not worth the risk of having you speak to the opposing insurance company to make sure they are on notice of your claim.

In fact, we do not recommend that you speak with the opposing insurance company at all before you have hired an attorney. When you hire Miller Lathrop, an attorney will inform all relevant insurance companies that you are represented in your car accident case, and they will be required from that point on to direct all communication to the law firm. This protects your rights and saves your sanity. No more harassing phone calls from adjusters, no more questionnaires looking to trip you up and make you admit fault in your accident.
